Part of an ongoing series of folders in the Prestige line, the Sage showcases a variety of different and ingenuous locking mechanisms in an exceptional design. This version comes with Spyderco’s proprietary Compression Lock, flat-ground CPM-S30V blade and Black peel-ply carbon fiber/G10 laminate handle scales.

Blade: A classic leaf shaped blade is delivered in fully flat ground, satin finished CPM-S30V for a great balance of slicing geometry, piercing capability and durability. A 13 mm RoundHole provides easy ambidextrous deployment on a smooth, phosphor bronze washer pivot. For optimal safety and control during use the jimped thumb ramp and index finger choil duo are unbeatable.

Handle: Dual barrel spacers span the inset, skeletonized stainless steel liners which support handsome Black peel-ply carbon fiber/G10 laminate handle scales. Handsome in look, the peel-ply textured carbon fiber offers added traction in the hand for a solid grip. Exceptionally ergonomic in design, the handle is comfortable enough for extended daily use. Spyderco’s innovative Compression Lock mechanism offers rock solid lockup, ease of operation and added safety thanks to being able to close the knife without putting the fingers in the path of the blade. Carries via a reversible, tip-up only, deep carry wire clip.

Compression Lock: A lock mechanism that uses a leaf-like spring from a split liner in the handle to wedge laterally between a ramp on the blade tang and the stop pin (or anvil pin). Developed and patented by Spyderco, it provides extreme lock strength and ease of use.

CPM-S30V: A powdered stainless steel with high levels of edge retention and corrosion resistance S30V was developed specifically for use in knife blades. The powdered process gives it a very refined grain, improving the sharpness and toughness. S30V is a great, all around steel with high levels of performance.
