This Lightweight version has all the same great features with the weight-saving advantages of an injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle reducing the overall weight to just 2.5 ounces. A highly advanced progression of an iconic design, the Native 5 Lightweight is an optimal cutting tool for everyday carry and use. This version comes with Cobalt Blue FRN handles and a plain edge blade in Spyderco’s Proprietary CPM-SPY27 stainless steel.

CPM-SPY27: Produced by Crucible exclusively for Spyderco (SPY), CPM SPY27 is a high Cobalt (atomic number 27) steel similar to S35VN. The resulting steel is expected to have similar hardness and corrosion resistance to S30V with toughness similar to S35VN with better sharpening response. An all around well-balanced steel for everyday use.
