The Spyderco Efficient has earned a loyal following among enthusiasts since its introduction because it is a versatile folder that is both pocket and budget friendly. The Insistent keeps these features in mind while providing a smaller, more discreet carry option as a budget friendly gentleman’s carry option. Overall construction is consistent with its bigger brother with a black wire clip standing in for the standard hourglass clip for an even more discreet carry. This version comes with a satin finished, partially serrated blade and black G10 handle scales.

Blade: The drop point, leaf-shaped blade lends itself to both piercing and slicing tasks with a full flat grind for excellent cutting performance. Just over 2 inches of cutting edge keeps the Insistent legal in most areas and a functional finger choil and spine jimping offer outstanding control for fine cutting tasks. The partially serrated section makes short work for rope, cord or other fibrous material. The blade opens via the Spyderco Round Hole™ making this knife fully ambidextrous.

Handle: The scales are made from textured Black G10, an industrial fiber glass composite laminate, which is tough, lightweight and nearly immune to decomposition and moisture. The scales are attached to skeletonized stainless steel liners which help to reduce weight while maintaining a high level of strength. The blade locks open for secure use via the intuitive and robust Liner Lock mechanism providing a great strength-to-weight ratio.

Carries via a reversible (tip-up only) black, deep carry wire clip.

8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. Edge holding is significantly lower than S30V but close to 440C. Sharpening should be a breeze.
