Emphasizing all of the tried and true elements from the popular Efficient, the Spyderco Emphasis keeps the design’s “cockpit” or key dimensional relationships of the pivot, lock and Trademark Round Hole. This offers a familiar in-hand feel while providing a long blade and handle for added cutting and ergonomic performance. Other than overall size and the addition of a deep carry wire clip, construction stays the same. This version comes with a satin finished, plain edge blade and black G10 handle scales.

Blade: The drop point, leaf-shaped blade lends itself to both piercing and slicing tasks with a full flat grind for excellent cutting performance. The blade offers 3.26 inches of cutting edge to tackle serious cutting tasks and a functional finger choil and spine jimping offer outstanding control for fine work. The blade opens via the Spyderco Round Hole™ making this knife fully ambidextrous.

Handle: The scales are made from textured Black G10, an industrial fiber glass composite laminate, which is tough, lightweight and nearly immune to decomposition and moisture. The scales are attached to skeletonized stainless steel liners which help to reduce weight while maintaining a high level of strength. The blade locks open for secure use via the intuitive and robust Liner Lock mechanism providing a great strength-to-weight ratio.

Carries via a reversible (tip-up only) black, deep carry wire clip.

8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. Edge holding is significantly lower than S30V but close to 440C. Sharpening should be a breeze.
