Spyderco’s Delica has been a cornerstone of their everyday carry product line since its introduction in 1990. The 4th Generation of the Delica lightweight was upgraded with a 13 mm RoundHole, spine jimping, reinforced blade tip, skeletonized liners, Bi-Directional Textured FRN scales and a four-position screw on clip. A new twist on the fully flat ground Delica 4 model is the introduction of the iconic Wharncliffe blade profile. Sometimes known as the “Jazzelica” (inspired by Spyderco Forumite, Jazz) the Wharncliffe Delica features a perfectly straight cutting edge and pronounced point for utility and detailed cutting tasks. This version comes with a SpyderEdge serrated VG-10 blade and black FRN handles.

Blade: Fully flat ground VG10 stainless steel comes with a razor sharp SpyderEdge serrated cutting edge and stunning satin finish. Wharncliffe blades have the advantage of delivering full power through the cut from heel to tip. SpyderEdge serrations increase the cutting edge surface area up to 24% and make quick work of tough, fibrous materials while still being capable of clean slicing with the proper technique. Spyderco’s ambidextrous Round Hole opener makes for smooth, easy, one hand operation. Present as well is the jimped thumb ramp for added control in both fine and heavy work. Just over 2.5 inches of straight cutting edge makes this an excellent cutting tool you will want to have with you every day.

Handle: Spyderco’s Bi-directional textured FRN in classic black offers exceptional traction in the hand with contoured edges and an ergonomic design that delivers comfort in the hand until the job is done. The sturdy mid-back lock design is easy to operate and comes with the Boye Dent further enhancing the security by preventing accidental disengagement of the lock when gripping the handle with heavy pressure. A hole at the pommel end allows for easy lanyard attachment.

Japanese VG10: VG-10 is a high-carbon stainless steel that takes a very good edge and holds it well. Popular with Japanese kitchen knife makers it is often hardened to 60-61 HRC. A popular choice for small pocket knives thanks to good edge holding and stain resistance VG10 works well with a high polished, acute edge for optimal slicing performance.
