Reate Knives K-1 Carbon Fiber RWL34 Stonewash Flipper

The K-1 Flipper from Reate Knives is a masterpiece in form, function and finishings. Its body is sleek with clean lines flowing into the futuristic-looking RWL34 blade. This version is outfitted with checkered Carbon Fiber inlays and a two-tone Satin/Stonewashed blade.

The item is brand new direct from Reate Knives. 

The Blade: Produced by the Damasteel Company, RWL34 martensitic stainless steel is some cool stuff. It’s named after world famous knife maker Robert W Loveless, known most notably for popularizing the hollow point drop point blade. Bob discovered the use of ATS34 Japanese ball bearing steel, from Kobe Steel, which Damasteel was able to transform into a superior Powder Metallurgy made RWL34 steel. This one is fashioned in a beautifully upswept slicer with upper swedged point. It’s amazingly sharp thanks to David’s freeze edging technique. During grinding, the temperature on the edge is controlled to a certain level of degree, which helps keep the hardness after the heat treating. Therefore, the sharpness and durability of the blade are assured. This helps bring the performance of the material to it’s highest potential. Stonewashed grinds, including the crowned spine, with horizontal satin flats create a stunning package. The integral flipper operation, blade seating and ceramic bearings system are all class leading as Reate is well known for. 

The Handle: Phenomenal fit and feel with this handle. It melts like butter in your hand. 6Al4V titanium frame lock with a matte grey finish and contoured edges. These checkered carbon fiber inlays, one on each side, are no small feat. They run nearly half of the handle and wrap up to the spine for a truly unique appearance. Truly pro effort here. The innards of the Ti have a handful of milled out pockets lightening and balancing out the design. A rounded 50% titanium back spacer with Ti hardware brings the K-1 together. The frame lockbar has a steel insert for silky smooth operation that also doubles as an over travel preventor. A single position tip up Ti pocket clip is attached and features a ceramic ball bearing insert for smooth transition in and out of your pocket. All bases are covered on the K-1 Flipper. 

This one ships in a zipper pouch with microfiber cloth and baggie.
