At 15% smaller than the Ultratech (85% the size), the double action out-the-front automatic UTX-85 from Microtech makes an even friendlier everyday carry option than its full-sized cousin. Same great design and quality American production in a more compact package. This version has a Black anodized aluminum handle and a stonewashed M390 drop point blade.

Blade: Equipped with a stonewashed finish, the drop point blade has a single, razor sharp, plain cutting edge. The drop point is highly utilitarian with a stonewashed finish that hides wear while retaining rugged good looks with handsome satin flats. The +3 inch blade features a double action mechanism for fast, smooth operation. Move the thumb slide up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear.

Handle: A smooth, black hard anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handle has rounded edges for a comfortable in-hand feel and smooth pocket transition. Several areas of machine-grooved texturing around the outsides enhance traction for a secure grip. Microtech’s proprietary hardware, glass breaker end and pocket clip complete the construction.

Carries via a right hand stainless steel pocket clip.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 (analog to CPM-20CV and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high carbide content for some of the highest edge retention and corrosion resistance, while being relatively easy to sharpen. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives. Relatively high carbide volume and coarse microstructure gives this steel lower toughness.
