Microtech UTX-85 D/E Black Double Edge M390 Red OTF Automatic Knife 232-1RD

The UTX-85 (15% smaller than an Ultratech or 85% the size of one) double action out the front automatic knife from Microtech makes a more compact, everyday carry option that is as robust and ready for action as its larger counterpart. This version has a Red anodized aluminum handle, two-tone black M390 double edge blade and black hardware.

Blade: The M390 dagger blade has dual plain cutting edges for clean slicing performance with a powerful piercing tip. Classy satin flats provide a subtle contrast to the durable and non-reflective poly-ceramic black Cerakote coating on the grinds. Double action automatic operation is fast, smooth, and reliable. Move the thumb slide up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both positions to reduce wear.

Handle: Smooth, hard anodized 6061-T6 red aluminum handles have contoured edges delivering a comfortable feel with smooth pocket transitions. Several areas of strategic milled jimping around the handle add traction. Black proprietary hardware, glass breaker end and pocket clip with individual serial number/date of production complete the construction.

Carries via a right-hand stainless-steel deep carry clip.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 (analog to CPM-20CV and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high carbide content for some of the highest edge retention and corrosion resistance, while being relatively easy to sharpen. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives. Relatively high carbide volume and coarse microstructure gives this steel lower toughness.
