Brand new directly from Mcusta Knives, Japan.
Blade:Â The San Mai SPG2 powder steel blade opens smoothly on a special oiled washer system via a half circle blade hole. The nearly full length clip point swedge and shallow hollow grind offer powerful piercing and slicing performance while maintaining good durability. The San Mai construction delivers a faux hamon line which pairs with the hammered Tsuchime finish for a beautifully timeless look.
Handle: Robust steel liners support stylish and rugged white Corian handle scales that are grooved for added traction. Corian is a smooth, durable and stain resistant material often used in counter tops and makes a functional and striking handle material with a satin finish that highlights the unique grain of the material. Strategic jimping around the handle offers added security in multiple grips while the clean, tapered design is ergonomic for use. The liner lock mechanism is smooth, simple and reliable for use.
Carries via a reversible, tip-up, stainless steel deep carry clip.
San Mai SPG2 Powder Steel:Â SPG2 is a high-carbon Japanese stainless steel that takes a fine edge and is a popular choice for high-end kitchen knives. The Powder process refines the structure of the steel for enhanced performance. SPG2 takes a fine edge and has good edge retention and corrosion resistance. San Mai cladding gives the blade added durability and corrosion resistance.
