Knafs Lander EDC Stonewashed D2 Blue G10 Fast Swap Scale Folder

Designed by Ben Petersen (WIUG, Ben Banters, et al.), the Knafs Lander is built based on Ben’s extensive research of knife trends spanning over a decade of experience in the industry. Hitting the benchmarks of quality, affordable, and easy to customize the Lander incorporates Ben’s “right to repair” philosophy. Knafs encourages disassembly of the Lander with fast swap scales that can be changed without taking the whole knife apart and easy sourcing of replacement parts. This version comes with a stonewashed D2 tool steel drop point blade and blue G10 handle scales.

Blade: Riding on a caged ceramic ball bearing pivot, the drop point blade deploys fast and smooth via ambidextrous dual thumb studs. A nearly full flat grind on the broad D2 tool steel blade delivers solid performance with good durability. A small section of jimping on the spine enhances traction and provides a good reference for indexing while the rugged stonewashed finish hides wear from heavy use.

Handle: Dual inset stainless steel liner construction joined with barrel spacers forms an easy to maintain and lightweight, open back construction. Fast swap G10 handles scales offer a rugged grip with plenty of traction, durability, and easy removal for custom scale swaps. The scales are Open Source via Creative Commons License Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Remix in any material with attribution is given to Knafs. You can download the Lander STP file here. The inset liner lock is reliable in operation offering solid, secure lockup for safe use.

D2 Tool Steel: Used as a die cutting steel since WW II, D2 offers a good combination of hardness and wear resistance with moderate toughness and stain resistance. High chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) gives D2 better corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels.
