Based on the classic Becker Knife & Tool BK16 clip point, the Kabar BK40 is a robust liner lock folder built for daily carry and serious use. Time tested Japanese AUS-8A stainless steel is paired with Zytel glass filled nylon polymer handles for a rugged and low maintenance platform with classic BK&T style.

Blade: Tough Japanese AUS-8A stainless steel is executed with a classic clip point profile with a high saber grind for balanced durability and cutting performance. Finished in a fine satin the blade deploys via dual thumb studs on bronze washers for smooth, ambidextrous operation. Jimping on the spine enhances traction during heavy use.

Handle: Black coated stainless steel liners support GFN handles which are lightweight, durable and impervious to the elements. Contoured for comfort, the handles are designed for a secure grip further enhanced via the scallops on the liner lock which also add traction. The robust steel liner lock is smooth, simple and reliable for secure lockup and safe use. A generous oval hole allows for lanyard attachment.

Carries via a 4-positions stainless steel deep carry wire clip. 

AUS-8A Stainless Steel: A Japanese high carbon, low chromium stainless steel with balanced toughness and strength, good corrosion resistance and capable of achieving a razor sharp edge. Edge retention is moderate with high ease of sharpening. The “A” at the end indicates the steel is annealed after the rolling which does not affect the blade performance.
