Mike Wallace has collaborated with Lynn Thompson and Cold Steel on the balisong-inspired Medium Luzon flipper. This is a budget friendly alternative for those who are unable to legally carry the traditional balisong. This tactically inspired folder has a slender, saber ground, clip point blade that opens with lightening quickness via the integral flipper tab and resides in a glass-filled nylon along with the robust liner lock mechanism.

Blade: Made from durable 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, the blade of the Luzon sports a durable saber grind with clip point swedge for a good balance of performance and durability. Good belly on the blade enhances slicing while a fine point pierces with ease. A fine satin finish offers both aesthetics and performance. The blade rides smoothly on bronze washers and deploys with speed via the integral index flipper tab or the dual thumb stud stop pins.

Handle: Durable, lightweight and economical black, glass-filled nylon (GFN) scales are molded with grooves and a fine, high-traction micro texture. Pair with the ergonomic handles a dual guard offers optimal security in the hand. Dual, skeletonized stainless liner construction forms a solid platform with one liner forming a strong leaf spring liner lock that is backed up by a secondary slide safety for a lock that is extremely resistant to shock and impact while being easy to operate with one hand.

8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. Edge holding is significantly lower than S30V but close to 440C. Sharpening should be a breeze.
