The Hawkbill Lightweight from Byrd Knife is a curved tool originally designed for the marine industry with its ability to hold rope, webbing etc. without sliding off the tip.. Its bi-directional textured black FRN handle is comfortable and strong for durability no matter the hand size, gloved or otherwise. This version comes in black fiberglass-reinforced nylon with a satin fully serrated cutting edge blade and is fully ambidextrous.

The Blade: Just over 2 inches of toothy, freshly sharpened cutting edge for the Hawkbill with a tear-thru piercing cutting edge. The unique shape is hollow ground and comes to a piercing point creating a super piercer for fibrous materials and can be included in the karambit family. Its comet shaped hole opener makes for easy one hand, left or right, opening with smooth bronze washer action. The pristine satin finish is timeless and will develop its own unique look over time. 

The Handle: Durable FRN handle is finely textured in a black colorway and smoothed around the edges for a comfortable grip. It has a forward choil for choking up on finer cutting tasks with Torx construction. Inset skeletonized steel liners add support for no-flex gripping. A super strong lock back mechanism keeps the blade in place while you work. 

Includes a silver stainless steel pocket clip that can be attached in any of the four pre-drilled positions creating absolutely ambidextrous carry. 

8Cr13MoV: Similar to Japanese AUS-8, 8Cr13MoV is a low carbon, high chromium stainless steel with an excellent balance of toughness and strength. It offers good corrosion resistance and is capable of acquiring a razor sharp edge. Edge holding is significantly lower than S30V but close to 440C. Sharpening should be a breeze.
