Danish custom knife maker Jesper Voxnaes is back with another solid collaboration with Boker knives in the Fieldfolder liner lock. The Fieldfolder was built for easy daily carry while being capable of handling serious use with a 4 mm thick D2 tool steel blade and 1.5 mm steel liner lock. Simple and utilitarian, a custom pivot with brass collars and matching back spacer provide a subtle yet deliberate style. This version comes with a dark stonewashed blade and black G10 scales.
Brand new, direct from Boker Knives.
Blade:Â Riding smooth on nylon pivot washers the stout clip point blade snaps to action via the oval blade hole. A high flat grind offers plenty of strength with good slicing performance to handle a variety of tasks. Jimping on the spine provides traction and indexing while the dark stonewashed finish hides wear and is discreetly non-reflective.
Handle: Full stainless steel liners support the G10 scales with standard peel-ply texture for good traction. Chamfered edges provide comfort on the full size handle which maintains a relatively neutral design for added versatility while providing a subtle guard for safety. The liner lock is solid, secure, and smooth in operation. A brass partial back spacer gives the knife good balance in hand and provides a lanyard attachment point.
Carries via a right-hand stainless steel pocket clip.
D2 Tool Steel:Â D2 is a cold work tool steel that has been used as a die cutting steel since WW II. D2 has a high chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) which gives it greater corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels making it semi-stainless. D2 offers a good combination of toughness, corrosion resistance and wear resistance for a good all around knife steel.
